Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

MHUHUHUHUHUHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
Okay, now that's out of my system... I joined PI a in the late-early to mid 2000s. I originally thought 2003 but I'm thinking it was probably closer to 04 or 05. I'd lurked there before from time to time but I allowed myself to become a more prominent member and by 2007 I had become something of a figurehead among the regulars. I let myself go, a bit of a prankster and jokester of sorts. Puns were my game.
That said, while I let myself have fun (sometimes a bit too much fun if I'm being 100% honest) I also always attempted to keep something of a level head, and with my friendly disposition I did my utmost to help everyone feel welcome. And I think most everyone did. PI was a friendly environment and it became a second, online home for me. I considered many of the people there to be some of my closest friends, and to this day I am proud to continue some of those relationships.
Then came that dreaded moment where the proverbial shit hit the fan. That was the weekend of the pilot release of Legend of the Seeker, when all hell broke loose and turned PI into a uncontrollable madhouse.
That was the week I learned that I'd gained the confidence of the administrator of the site, Zedd, and joined the mod crew in order to help soothe the waters. I'm forever grateful for that trust he placed in me.
It was a sad day when the PI community faded away, though the confusion and anger has long since faded away with a bit of understanding as to why it had to be. I've learned to respect Terry's decision in the matter.
But here we have a new chance to try to rebuild a bit of what we lost back then. It's a good start. It's actually thrilling to see some familiar faces, and hopefully more are on the way. Time to roll up our sleeves, dig in our heels, and make it happen!
